Townes is proud and smitten with his “baby sister”. He has wanted to hold her often and help me feed her a bottle. He frequently places his hand around her tiny little feet and plants loving big brother kisses on her cheeks. At the hospital she opened her eyes the most when Townes would speak to her as I imagine his voice sounded so familiar as he often ran to me offering his priceless hugs and would say, “hey baby sister” when I was pregnant.

Today, he asked me for a snack and I responded with “okay bud, I will get it for you.”

He promptly replied, “you mean Big Brother.” Yes, Townes of course, you will now always be a Big Brother. Thank you for embracing this new aspect of your identity with ease, a joyful heart and a curious spirit.

And a big thank you to you, praying for us as we made this transition to become a family of six (and the dogs have adjusted well too).  Redemption is real, in its very nature healing, and something we should all seek and continually ask for (Matthew 7:7).
